Mike Hall MP welcomes the good news for Runcorn Linnets

Runcorn FC has received a £93,331 grant towards the cost of building a new ground at Halton Sports in Murdishaw. The Football Stadia Improvement Fund, supporters of the Football Foundation, and the largest funder of non league football in the country, has announced that they have a awarded this grant to enable Runcorn Linnets FC to build a new ground at Halton Sports in Murdishaw, enabling the club to return to Runcorn for the 2010/2011 season.
This is great news for Runcorn Football Club and the town.
Mike Hall said:-
"I was pleased to be able to play my part in supporting the bid for funds to the Football Foundation. I congratulate everyone at Runcorn FC for the work they have done in getting the grant and bringing the team back to play in Runcorn.
"Bringing Runcorn FC back to Runcorn is a real achievement and a real boost for the town. I wish the Club every success for the future and their return to their roots. I am looking forward to being able to watch the team play at their new ground."
