Mackintosh Essay Winner Magnus Martin Arrives At Westminster To Enjoy His Prize

Magnus Martin, his father Archie and the late John Mackintosh’s daughter Deirdre flew down to London to take in the Speaker’s Parade, Prime Minister’s Questions and lunch in the Strangers Dinning room with Anne Picking MP.

Anne Picking said, “I am always delighted to welcome the winner of the Mackintosh Essay at Westminster. The standard of this years essay was as usual very high and Magnus is a worthy winner.

The Mackintosh lecture is firmly established on Scotland’s political landscape and now with the essay competition we are engaging young East Lothian students in the political process which in my view can only be a good thing.”
