BUSY HALF TERM FOR MP
On Friday 9 February, the House of Commons begins a week’s recess. West Derbyshire's Member of Parliament, Patrick McLoughlin, is putting it to good use around his constituency.
He begins on Saturday 10 February in Ashford in the Water near Bakewell, with the Annual General Meeting of the Ashford Branch of the West Derbyshire Conservative Association (WDCA).
On Monday 12 February, at 9.30 am, Patrick will visit the Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Ashbourne.
After that, he will be accompanying the Rt Hon John Gummer MP who is visiting the Peak District National Park Authority in Bakewell as part of the policy review on the environment ordered by David Cameron. The Authority will be showing John some of the environmental and rural business work that they do – local foods, support to businesses, tourism etc – and also taking him to the Moorland Centre in Edale to hear more about the work on carbon management and moorlands.

Finally that day, Patrick and John Gummer will be attending an afternoon tea in Bakewell being held by the WDCA.

On Tuesday 13 at 8 am, Patrick hopes to attend the first meeting of the new Ashbourne Breakfast Club at the Quality Hotel.
At 10 am, Patrick will be at the opening of the Public Enquiry into Backdale Quarry, being held at Calver Village Hall, Main Street, Calver.

At 6 pm there will be an advice bureau in Ashbourne. Appointments can be made on 01332 558125.
On Friday 16 February, at 5 pm, Patrick will be meeting the new Primary Care Trust for all of Derbyshire at the Whitworth Hospital in Darley Dale.
After that, in Matlock, Patrick will be meeting members of the local Democracy Movement.
