Ayr Carrick and Cumnock MP comments on outcome of regeneration bid by council
Sandra said:
'I am deeply disappointed that the bids have been rejected as I thought priority would have been given to generate the town centres of Maybole and Girvan, which urgently require attention and it would have had a double advantage of replacing leisure facilities in Girvan.
This is a major setback and, although it was well worth trying, the Council must now look at alternative sources of funding and I would call on the public to keep up the pressure along with the community councils and their elected representatives to make sure a new pool for Girvan and action to improve our town centres does not slip back down the political agenda.'
