Which? welcomes new ISO standard for printer cartridges

Thursday 25 January 2007

Today Intellect, the UK trade association for the IT, telecoms and electronics industries, announced the publication of new ISO standards for inkjet and colour laser printer cartridge yield.

Lizzy Payne, researcher, Which?, says:

“We welcome the new ISO standard as it will help consumers to accurately compare the yield of inkjet cartridges, and therefore the long-term running costs of their printer.

“Our testing of printers shows that the difference between cartridge yields is dramatic. We hope to see printer manufacturers taking steps to clearly communicate the yield information to consumers.”

The results of Which?’s latest printer testing will be published in the February issue of Which? magazine. For more information please contact Nicola Frame.
