The Prince of Wales and the Prime Minister to share climate change platform

HRH The Prince of Wales and the UK Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, will address an audience of top business leaders on the issue of climate change on 1 May.

The two dignitaries will speak at HRH The Prince of Wales's May Day Business Summit on Climate Change - the UK's largest gathering of businesses committed to taking positive and collective action to tackle climate change. The summit will reconvene the May Day Network, which now has over 800 members, and is managed by Business in the Community, a charity that mobilises business for good.

160 Chief Executives will gather at a 'hub' event in central London, and proceedings will be broadcast live to a further 1,550 business leaders at 12 simultaneously linked events across the UK. All the attending businesses and organisations will be asked to commit to further action on climate change, including measuring and reducing their carbon footprint.

As well as HRH The Prince of Wales and the Prime Minister, speakers will include Sir Mike Rake. Chairman of BT, Sir Stuart Rose, Chief Executive of Marks & Spencer and Chairman of Business in the Community, and Dr Rajenda Pachauri, Chairman of The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
