R3 comments on the hike in fuel prices

Graham Rumney, R3 Chief Executive Officer:

"R3 is concerned that the hike in fuel bills will put further financial pressure on already squeezed households. The cost of heating one’s home was typically a concern for those on low incomes and pensioners; however with more than four in ten struggling to pay day and wages being frozen or cut, this rise in living costs will be difficult for many to bear. The impact of the increase in prices will really hit home with the arrival of the colder weather when many households will have to decide whether they can afford to heat their home and keep on top of their other financial commitments."
