Public’s favourite London restaurants compete for Good Food Guide award

21 April 2008

The Good Food Guide today reveals the top contenders for its London Restaurant of the Year award, which recognises excellence and good service at restaurants, pubs and cafés in the region.

Members of the public have been voting for their favourite independently owned restaurant since 3 March, and over 6,000 votes have been received already. At the midway stage in the voting, the top London contenders are:

  • Bar Shu, Soho
  • Pied a Terre, Fitzrovia
  • Kulu Kulu Sushi, Soho
  • El Pirata, Mayfair

Members of the public can vote online at which.co.uk/gfgaward, by text or by sending in a postcard available from restaurants. Nominations close on Friday 23 May 2008.

The London Restaurant of the Year will be announced at the end of May and will feature in the 2009 edition of The Good Food Guide. It will also compete with nine other regional winners for The Which? Good Food Guide - Restaurant of the Year award, which will be presented at a ceremony on 17 June 2008 at the British Museum.

Elizabeth Carter, Consultant Editor, The Which? Good Food Guide, says:

“All entries in The Good Food Guide are based on reader feedback as well as our expert inspection, but these awards really do ensure that we recognise the restaurants that the public love to visit.

“If you want to see your favourite local restaurant getting the praise it deserves, then get your vote in now!”
