PETER TAKES THE CHAIR

Llanelli teacher Peter Morris has taken up office as Chairman of the Welsh Executive Committee (WEC) of the Professional Association of Teachers (PAT).

Peter (53) retires from teaching this month after serving as an ICT teacher for nine years at Bishop Gore Comprehensive School, Sketty, Swansea.

A former policeman, Peter Morris has taught in schools in both the independent and state sectors in Swansea.

Peter lives in Llanelli with his partner, Carolyn. His interests include photography and travel. He is a member of the Carmarthenshire Community Health Council.

Commenting on his appointment, Peter Morris said: “I am delighted to have been elected as WEC Chairman for the second time. I last served in this post from 2003 to 2005.

“I am looking forward to using my time in office to promote the important roles undertaken by education and childcare professionals in Wales, to represent PAT (Cymru) at local and national meetings, and to address the concerns of our members.”
