Osborne, Hodge and business leaders head to Belfast

Monday 19 March 2007

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) today announced the final line-up for its 2007 National Conference and AGM, to take place in Belfast from Thursday March 22 to Saturday March 24.

Following Thursday’s AGM the conference opens on Friday and continues on Saturday with keynote speakers including the FSB National Chairman Carol Undy, Shadow Chancellor George Osborne and Small Business Minister Margaret Hodge. Political leaders from Northern Ireland will also lay out their views at this crucial time for the province.

Carol Undy, FSB National Chairman, said:

“This is an important period in Northern Ireland’s economic and political life and we are delighted to be so closely involved in offering the views of business as part of that process. The FSB is the largest business organisation in Northern Ireland, as well as in the whole of the UK, and so it is only right that our national conference is in Belfast this year.

“We will be discussing the aftermath of the Budget in detail and we look forward to hearing what the Shadow Chancellor and the Minister for Small Businesses have to say.

“FSB members from across the country will be in Belfast to give their views and we look forward to welcoming them. It promises to be a lively event with plenty of talking points and proposals for the politicians to take away with them for consideration.”
