Media invitation to Food Report launch

Launch event: British Retailing: A Commitment to Health

Wednesday 3 June 2009, 8.30 – 9.30 am

You are invited to the launch of the British Retail Consortium's (BRC's) comprehensive new nutrition report, British Retailing: A Commitment to Health.

Dawn Primarolo MP, Minister for Public Health, will unveil the report at the event attended by senior retail figures from the companies in the report, politicians, officials, consumer and food industry groups.

The document is a comprehensive analysis of the ways BRC members are helping consumers make healthier choices in the food they buy.

Key topics covered include: developments in areas as diverse as reformulation, food labelling and nutritional information in restaurants and cafes, as well as insight into consumer attitudes to healthy eating messages.

It is the third BRC report of its kind in the last six years, demonstrating BRC members' commitment to the health and nutritional needs of their customers.

The event is taking place on Wednesday 3 June 2009, from 8.30 to 9.30 am.
