London First comment on potential delays at border controls

24 November 2011

Commenting on concerns over the impact of next week's public sector strike on border controls, Baroness Jo Valentine, chief executive of London First, said:

“At a time when we need to be sending a clear message to the world that Britain is open for business, it would be unacceptable for travellers to and from our major ports to suffer excessive delays because of a lack of staff. The government needs to take whatever steps are necessary to ensure that legitimate visitors can enter or leave the country smoothly and swiftly.”
