London First comment on Evening Standard story: 'Driverless trains on the Tube by 2021'

24 October 2011

Baroness Jo Valentine, Chief Executive of London First, which represents London's largest employers said:

“As technologies change so must organisations and the roles of their people within them. Driverless trains and the next generation of smart ticketing have the potential to give passengers better service at lower cost. The news that London Underground is considering what impact these changes might have is as welcome as it should be unsurprising. The only appropriate response to the histrionics of Bob Crow is for LU to keep calm and carry on.”
