London First comment on draft Civil Aviation Bill

23 November 2011

Commenting on today's publication of the draft Civil Aviation Bill, London First's chief executive, Baroness Jo Valentine, said:

“We welcome this Bill as good news for passengers at UK airports. The CAA needs greater powers to toughen up airports' performance on issues like queues and more scope to tailor regulation to meet the particular needs of those major airports which serve London.

“However, the government must take responsibility for one of the other major causes of delays at airports by more effectively resourcing and managing the Borders Agency so that legitimate visitors can enter the UK swiftly and smoothly.”
