Press Release

Introducing the retail employment monitor

30 July 2010

Following almost two years work, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) is launching its new, quarterly Retail Employment Monitor (REM) today (Friday).

This is the most up-to-date retail employment data available and shows how retail job numbers have changed compared with a year ago and retail job prospects for the next three months.

Gathering data from retailers employing over a million people and responsible for over half the UK’s retail turnover, the REM is sponsored by leading business law firm Bond Pearce LLP.

The first BRC – Bond Pearce REM compares each of the months in the second quarter of 2010 with the same months a year ago.

The full REM press release can be read here: http://www.brc.org.uk/showDoc04.asp?id=4120&moid=7078
