Homeless Link appoints new director of homelessness transition fund

8 November 2011

Homeless Link has appointed Samantha Rennie as the new Director of the £20m Homelessness Transition Fund.

Samantha previously worked at the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fund where she was Head of Partnerships. During her time there Samantha developed the final £5m 'legacy' grants programmes.

She is a highly experienced manager and grant-maker, with expertise in building partnerships and influencing policy. Her previous experience also includes:

• working with the Lottery, where she was responsible for the £90 million Fair Share scheme

• working as Chief Executive of Handicap International UK

• chairing a Comic Relief Advisory Panel

Commenting on the appointment, Ann Skinner, Chair of Homeless Link, said:

“Samantha understands grant-making inside out – she has implemented nationwide grants schemes and worked as an advisor for organisations such as Comic Relief. This experience is invaluable to the Homelessness Transition Fund team who will, over the next three years, distribute £20 million to voluntary sector organisations to protect services for people who are homeless and support the introduction of the No Second Night Out standard.”

Samantha Rennie said:

“Having worked with and within the voluntary sector for 20 years I understand the pressures organisations face to keep services sustainable. I am delighted to be joining the transition fund team at this critical time. We will be playing an integral role in protecting services for homeless people
