FSB wins international small business award

The FSB has received a prestigious international award in recognition of its work in protecting and promoting the interests of small businesses and the self employed.

The World Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) presented Britain’s leading business organisation with its Legion of Honour Award at a special ceremony in the Romanian capital Bucharest during its 2005 SME convention.

WASME, whose members comprise business groups and financial institutions from more than 60 different countries, praised the FSB’s effective lobbying role and applauded the range of benefits its members receive.

FSB National Chairman Carol Undy received the Legion of Honour from WASME President Marielou Guerrero.

Carol Undy said:“We are delighted to have been presented with this prestigious award. It is a testament to the hard work of members and staff who make the FSB what it is today – Britain’s leading business organisation.

“The theme of this year’s WASME Convention was the challenge of globalisation and a knowledge based economy.

“Small businesses cannot afford to ignore the rest of the world and the FSB hopes to lead by example.

“This award underlines the FSB’s international credentials as we continue protecting and promoting the interests of small businesses and the self employed at home and abroad.”
