FSB: New FE Structure Must Deliver For Business

6th September 2005

Northern Ireland’s largest business organisation the Federation of Small Businesses has given a broad welcome to today’s announcement of the reorganisation of FE Colleges in Northern Ireland.

FSB Policy Chairman Wilfred Mitchell said:

“We welcome that this plan could create the opportunity for six new centres of excellence of Further Education, which will reduce administration without reducing the facilities and produce more highly qualified skilled students which the business community very much wants to see”

“The FSB works very closely with our colleagues in ANIC to develop greater linkages between the business community and FE colleges, something we hope these six new FE Centres will seek to strengthen as a top priority”

“It is our hope that the reorganisation can proceed as quickly as possible without the lose of jobs and disruption to students”
