FDF response to governments commitment to slash apprenticeship red tape

6 September 2011

Responding to the action plan for cutting the red tape around apprenticeships, Angela Coleshill, HR Director at the Food and Drink Federation (FDF), says:

“We fully support the Government's commitment to cutting red tape for employers to enable them to maximise the number of apprentices they can take on. Apprenticeships are a fantastic way of attracting talent for the future and bring many benefits to businesses including increased productivity, improved competitiveness and a motivated workforce.

“Many of our members already have ambitious apprenticeship plans in place and we will shortly be unveiling the details of our pledge to boost the number of apprenticeship training opportunities in the food and drink manufacturing sector. In partnership with the Food and Drink National Skills Academy and the National Apprenticeship Service, FDF's pledge will help reduce administrative burden for food and drink manufacturers by supporting them through the process of developing and implementing an apprenticeship programme”.
