Esteemed medical director joins CLCH

2 November 2011

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) has welcomed Dr Pui-Ling Li as its Medical Director.

Dr Li currently holds the post of Deputy Regional Director of Public Health at NHS London, and will divide her time between the two organisations. A key focus of the medical director role will be to help CLCH further enhance the quality and effectiveness of its services.

CLCH Chief Executive, James A. Reilly, said: "Dr Li has valuable experience and expertise in public health, primary care and healthcare in the voluntary sector, and we welcome the fresh perspective that she brings to CLCH. Dr Pui-Ling Li is well placed to drive the organisation forward, having established a number of networks and programmes to help improve the health of Londoners."

Dr Li works closely with Department of Health policy leads as the London SHA lead for the prevention agenda in Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP), TB, sexual health, immunisations, and NHS Health Checks. Dr Li is also the founder and chair of the Chinese National Healthy Living Centre, which has received extensive recognition as a key model for delivering health improvement to minority ethnic communities.

When speaking of her appointment, Dr Li said, "CLCH is an ambitious and forward-looking organisation, and that's what makes this new role so exciting. I particularly look forward to building on the work the trust has done to improve the quality of care it provides to patients, with an eye to innovation and the benefits of close working with social care partners across all boroughs."

James A. Reilly added: "It is one year since CLCH became an NHS Trust, and we're proud of the achievements we've made during this time. Dr Li will play a crucial role in supporting our organisation as we meet the challenges of the year ahead, and continue our journey towards Foundation Trust status."
