CRB checks made easy

20 April 2009

Government legislation does not require nannies to have a criminal record check before they start work, but many agencies and employers insist on it. Voice: the union for education professionals believes strongly in the value of CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checks and has teamed up with Criminal Records Checked Ltd to make it as easy and inexpensive as possible for nanny and other self-employed members to get their Disclosure certificate.

Working with Criminal Records Checked, Voice, which represents childcare and education professionals, has produced an easy-to-follow leaflet, CRB checks made easy!, describing "The 10 Steps of the Criminal Records Checked application".

The leaflet and further information on making CRB applications can be found online at www.voicetheunion.org.uk/crb.
