Comment on hold-up on FE funding

19 March 2009

Business organisation London First is concerned that despite a commitment to accelerate infrastructure spending in response to the economic downturn, the capital spending programme for every London Further Education College has been put on hold by Government.

Baroness Jo Valentine, Chief Executive of London First said:

"Tackling the recession requires swift actions from Government, to accelerate capital spending wherever possible. The London College building projects can play an important part in this and are crucial for the future development of FE, and the London economy as a whole."
