BONHAMS TO SELL CELEBRITY POSTCARD ART FOR THE CAMPAIGN TO PROTECT RURAL ENGLAND

Leading artists, writers, composers, politicians, celebrities and religious leaders responded to the Campaign to Protect Rural England’s [1] (CPRE) 80th anniversary appeal to create and send A Postcard from Home, expressing their love, hopes and fears for England’s countryside.

On 22 August 2007, in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge, Bonhams [2] will auction the postcard-size works of art. The quirky cartoons, accomplished works of art and engagingly eccentric doodles will be sold for charity at ‘No Reserve’, which means that original work by famous artists, such as Sam Taylor-Wood, Rachel Whiteread CBE, Maggi Hambling OBE or Mary Fedden RA can be potentially bought at a fraction of the price of their other work.
