ACE Engineering Excellence Awards winners announced

15 May 2009

Leading construction industry business association, the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE), announced the winners of the second ACE Engineering Excellence Awards at a packed gala dinner event at the Victoria Park Plaza hotel in London on Wednesday 13 May 2009.

Hosted by broadcaster and journalist Nicky Campbell, the awards showcased consultancy and engineering firms who had demonstrated a high degree of achievement, value and engineering excellence over the last 12 months. Speaking after the event, ACE chairman Geoff French proclaimed the awards as a boost to the sector, and paid tribute to the number of pioneering projects that had been honoured.

"The current recession has set consultancy and engineering firms a certain kind of challenge," he said. "It's abundantly clear from both the quality and quantity at this year's awards that they have responded in kind by producing work of the highest calibre – it's hard to think of another country where the standard of engineering is so high. Under difficult conditions, with more restrictions and more obstacles, our member firms are sending out a message that this sector is worth investing in and will justify any faith shown in it. Each of the firms shortlisted, not only the winners, can be immensely proud of what they have achieved over the last twelve months."
