Press Release
ACE announces Engineering Excellence Awards shortlist
27 April 2009
Consultancy and engineering firms are biting their collective nails for the next three weeks following the announcement today by the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) of the shortlist for the annual ACE Engineering Excellence Awards.
Public projects are prominent in almost every category, reinforcing ACE's oft-projected view that continued investment by the government is essential in the current economic climate. Projects with an educational slant also figure strongly, while sports centres and arts facilities are also recognised amongst the 44 projects shortlisted. Judges were also encouraged by the large number of small firms entering this year's awards.
With over 100 entries across ten project categories, the judges had a difficult task in shortlisting entries. However, following a series of judging sessions at ACE's offices, they have decided on a shortlist in all the categories.
Shortlisted firms now have to wait until Wednesday 13 May 2009 when the winners and commendations will be revealed 'Oscar style' at the ACE Engineering Excellence Awards gala dinner. The event, at the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel in London, will be presented by the award-winning journalist and broadcaster Nicky Campbell.
ACE chief executive Nelson Ogunshakin commented: "We are delighted with the range of entries in these awards. We have a high quality shortlist in every category and the judges were impressed with the all-round engineering excellence demonstrated by the entries submitted. We are now looking forward to the awards dinner on 13 May 2009 to find out which firms and projects have been successful."
Places at the awards dinner are selling fast. To book a place, download a booking form here. The complete shortlist is listed below: -
