Proskills UK Group

Proskills UK Group comprises Proskills UK, the Sector Skills Council for the Process & Manufacturing sector and the Proskills Academy. It represents the interests of nine key industries:

• Building Products
• Coatings
• Extractive and Mineral Processing
• Furniture, Furnishings & Interiors
• Glass & Related Industries
• Glazed Ceramics
• Paper
• Printing
• Wood

These industries make up a third of UK manufacturing sector, and form the supply chain to several vital sectors including Construction.

Proskills UK, the Sector Skills Council for the Process and Manufacturing sector

The Sector Skills Council is the bridge between employers and government on skills and training. It is an employer-led, not-for-profit organisation, whose role is to raise the profile, skills levels and competitiveness in the 80,000 businesses and 800,000 employees that make up the sector. Proskills UK carries out research and develops qualifications for the industries it represents, and ensures that the skills and funding system delivers against the current and future needs of the industries.

Proskills Academy

The National Skills Academy for the sector is the first step in identifying and accessing the training that businesses need to reduce costs and boost productivity. Proskills Academy sets the standard for industry-relevant and quality-assured training and qualifications for the sector and users are guaranteed simple access to relevant information, products and services that will support business or personal growth. The Proskills Academy vision is to make change in training activity which provides a measurable return on investment for businesses in the sector.
