Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group
650 MPs, 650 makers, 650 stories of British ingenuity
On July 6th, Rt Hon Vince Cable MP will launch "Made By Britain", asking each and every one of our 650 MPs to nominate an example of manufacturing excellence from their constituency. 160 years on from the Great Exhibition of 1851, Parliament will showcase the creativity and productivity of what’s "Made by Britain" today.
From custard creams to ship thrusters, British manufacturing is an untold tale of innovation and ingenuity. It’s one of the few sectors which may be able to strengthen our economy today, yet it’s in need of a reputation overhaul. To help tell the story of makers up and down the country, we have already secured the first 25 nominations from MPs and the full complement of BIS Ministers.
