National Federation of Builders
The National Federation of Builders (NFB) represents over 1,500 members, which are primarily small to medium size enterprises (SMEs) with turnover under £100m. We offer a range of services to our members to provide a complete package of support.
A core strength of the NFB is its dual national and regional structure. With eight business centres across England and Wales, we are ideally placed to provide relevant, region-specific support and understand local issues.
One of the key benefits of membership is access to our specialist advice lines. The services cover legal, employment, taxation, health and safety, planning, environmental, technical, training and government funding issues. At no additional cost, members have quick access to expert knowledge that is tailored to the needs of their company and provided by highly-qualified advisors with first-hand knowledge of the industry.
Another key area of the NFB is training. The training programme is constantly evolving to cover changing legislation and different workplace requirements. Courses are often developed with ConstructionSkills and are subsidised for members, offering great value for money.
The NFB provides a number of additional services, including Newsline, a monthly policy newsletter to keep members abreast of changes, and InSite, a quarterly review of industry issues. We also visit members to conduct seminars on key issues and provide staff training programmes. We work with other organisations who can add value to our members' businesses. By using the collective buying power of our members, we negotiate favourable terms for the provision of services and equipment.
As a member of the Construction Confederation, the NFB has excellent access to local and central government and acts as a voice to lobby for the interests of companies working in the built environment sector.
More information on the NFB's activities and views can be found at our website: http://www.builders.org.uk.
