Around half of the UK's carbon emissions are associated with buildings and their use.
New building regulations effecting energy efficiency will come into force next year and many of the changes have been prompted by the government's ambitions to significantly reduce the carbon footprint and energy consumption of domestic and public buildings.
All construction methods recognize the need for healthy, sustainable and energy efficient living, but incentives to use low carbon renewable technologies, have also sparked debate about the different options available and the need for a "Fabric First" approach, which is consumer friendly.
