The IET Prestige Lecture Series
See the future of engineering for free

Attending an IET Lecture is your opportunity to see the future of engineering. IET Lectures are free to attend and are a key highlight of the IET’s events calendar.

Showcasing the latest ideas and technologies, the lectures cover a range of engineering disciplines, ranging from general interest to the more technical. Past speakers include Microsoft’s Chief Research Scientist, Professor Chris Bishop, and Professor Sir John Pendry talking about his Invisibility Cloak and National Grid's CEO, Steve Holliday talking about our energy future. For each lecture there is an informal networking session following the talk. With audience’s routinely of 300 or more delegates from a range of academia, government and industry these sessions are busy and productive!

The President of the IET begins his year in office with an inaugural lecture every October. Many of the lectures were established in memory of engineers who achieved exemplary and ground breaking work in their day for example Lord Kelvin and James Clark Maxwell.

The speakers invited to give IET Lectures are of that calibre – innovative, forward-thinking and at the top of their game. The Prestige Lecture Series is your opportunity to see them.
