Working with Parliament and Government
As the employer-led Sector Skills Council for Business and Information Technology, e-skills UK acts as the 'voice' of employers on technology-related skills issues. We provide a unique platform for dialogue and collaboration between employers and government, helping to shape government policy on skills.
e-skills UK provides unique access to employer insight through its authoritative employer Boards, market leading research and policy responses.
Collaboration with MPs and PITCOM
Each year, e-skills UK collaborates with the Parliamentary Information Technology Committee (PITCOM) to deliver 'Make IT Happen', a UK-wide challenge to reward the best use of technology by primary schools. The competition is aimed at primary school students aged nine to eleven and looks for projects that are pupil-led, show initiative and imagination, and make the most of the school's available ICT resources.
Regional and national winners are rewarded with cash prizes and winning schools are also invited to attend an awards ceremony at the Houses of Parliament.
If you are an MP and would like to get involved in the competition, please contact Sophie Bialaszewski (sophie@e-skills.com, 020 7963 8962).
For more information about the competition, please visit the Make IT Happen website at www.e-skills.com/makeithappen.
