As part of Safer Internet Day, the Rt. Hon Alun Michael MP is inviting MPs to attend the UK Safer Internet Centre’s event at Portcullis House on 7th February 2012 at 4pm.

Safer Internet Day 2012 – Connecting Generations

Safer Internet Day 2012 is celebrated worldwide and this year is an opportunity to encourage users young and old to "discover the digital world together safely". An inspirational array of activity is taking place nationwide, coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre (www.saferinternet.org.uk), with all activities focusing attention on empowering all generations to safely benefit from the opportunities that the internet offers. Connecting Generations and Stakeholders Discussion – The Atlee Suite, Portcullis House

To bring the Connecting Generations theme to life, the Safer Internet Centre will host a roundtable discussion on Safer Internet Day, bringing together a group of 9-11 year olds, a group of 13-17 year olds and a group of parents, carers and grandparents, to listen to their experiences, needs and safety concerns, providing invited guests, including industry and MPs, with an opportunity to hear from them about the real experiences that users have online, and to understand areas where they need help in using the internet safely.
