Locations
Chance UK was established in the London Borough of Islington in 1995 by a local police officer. He had seen that younger children were regularly coming to the attention of the police and was concerned that if some early intervention work was not put in place then these children would inevitably end up in the criminal justice system.
The programme has now been running successfully and growing for over 13 years in Islington and has also been running in the neighbouring borough of Hackney since 2000.
We have now developed a strategic partnership with Action for Children and run joint Chance UK mentoring programmes. So far, projects have been established in Derry, Inverness, Knowsley, and Liverpool. Programmes are also running in Hemel Hempstead and Withernsea, with Children and Family Action in Yorkshire.
