ABOUT BANT
BANT is a non-profit organisation, incorporated in 1997 as a Company Limited by Guarantee, which acts as a professional body for nutritional therapy practitioners.
It is funded by member subscriptions and donations. It has a governing council elected by its members.
BANT promotes high standards of knowledge, skills and professional practice which underpin the standards of proficiency necessary to meet the National Occupational Standards for Nutritional Therapy. It also promotes Continuing Professional Development activities of its practitioners.
BANT practitioner members must have met the required standards of training, be fully insured and adhere to the BANT Codes of Practice.
BANT has a UK-wide network of area co-ordinators who organise support for local practitioners.
At January 2010 BANT has nearly 2400 full and student members.
