Airbus is a leading aircraft manufacturer with the most modern and comprehensive family of airliners on the market. Ranging from 107 to 525 seats, Airbus' product line includes: the single aisle A320 Family, the wide-body long-range A330/A340 and the all-new next generation A350XWB Family, and the ultra long-range, double-decker A380 Family. The company also continues to broaden its scope and product range by applying its expertise to the military market, with the A400M. It is also extending its portfolio of freighter aircraft that will set new standards in the general and express freight market sectors. Airbus today consistently captures around half of all commercial airliner orders.

Airbus is a global company with design and manufacturing facilities in the UK, France, Germany and Spain, as well as subsidiaries in the US, China and Japan. Headquartered in Toulouse, France, Airbus is an EADS Company.

The UK is home to Airbus' global 'Centre of Excellence for Wing and Pylon'. Airbus in the UK is responsible for the design, development and manufacture of wings, fuel systems and landing gear integration on all Airbus aircraft.

Airbus employs over 10,000 people across its sites in the UK. Airbus provides work for 100,000 jobs through an extended supply chain of more than 2,000 companies located across the length and breadth of the UK, including SMEs and companies located in disadvantaged regions.

Currently Airbus in the UK and its supply chain provide supplies and services worth nearly £1.5 billion per annum to the UK economy. Airbus in the UK is one of the UK's biggest inward investors in R&D and is ranked as a leading Aerospace & Defence investor in R&D in the UK 2010 R&D scoreboard.
