Alistair Darling will deliver his pre-Budget report on Wednesday December 9.
The financial package is expected to chart out the road to economic recovery and give further details of how the chancellor plans to halve the public debt over four years.
All parties have admitted that spending cuts will be needed to achieve cuts, with the Conservatives calling for immediate action.
The latest Treasury predictions for the UK economy's recovery will also be released.
The pre-Budget report will be the last before the next general election, which is due by June 3 2010.
