Draft Communications Data Bill

The Bill seeks to modify the procedures for acquiring communications data and allow this data to be retained.

The Bill aims to keep up with changing technologythrough providing for the collection and retention of communications data,including data not required for business purposes of communicationsservice providers; and to ensure safeguards continue to create a balance between privacy and protecting the public.
