The scientist at the centre of the so-called 'climategate' row that engulfed the University of East Anglia's climate research unit has defended himself before MPs.
Professor Phil Jones, director of the unit, appeared before the science and technology committee's hearing into the disclosure of climate data yesterday.
The Independent reports that Jones admitted to sending some "awful emails" but insisted his findings on climate change were honest.
And the Financial Times reports that Lord Lawson, former chancellor and climate change sceptic, called for one of the men leading the internal UEA investigations into the furore to be removed as he was a "committed climate alarmist".
