COMMENT FROM THE TSSA GENERAL SECRETARY, GERRY DOHERTY, ON THE WHITE CITY DERAILMENT

TSSA general secretary Gerry Doherty said:

“It is unacceptable that derailments such as this occur even though specific safety measures are in place. This is not helped by the complex structure of London Underground Ltd and the tangled lines of communication between the infrastructure controller and the contractors. Best practices and policies look fine on paper but are unachieveable without effective management and co-ordination."
