TSSA RESPONDS TO NETWORK RAIL'S PERFORMANCE FIGURES

For immediate release TSSA responds to Network Rail's performance figures

TSSA, Britain's second largest rail union, has responded to Network Rail's announcement that rail delays fell by 28 per cent in July.

General secretary Gerry Doherty said: "This improvement shows what can beachieved when work is taken from the private sector and placed back in the hands of the public sector.

"However, there is still a lot more work to do. We remain convinced that more improvements could be made in passenger services if more train operations were taken in house."
