TSSA CONFERENCE BACKS LABOUR PARTY LINK

Travel and transport union TSSA at their annual conference today [Thursday]in Plymouth has overwhelmingly backed retaining its link with the LabourParty.

The conference rejected a number of motions questioning TSSA's affiliationwith the Labour Party.

It also passed a motion stating: 'this conference continues to support theLabour Party ...and its principles by the use of the political fund'.

General Secretary Richard Rosser said: "TSSA has shown today that it remains wholly committed to the Labour Party.

"Our members realise that if we don't like Labour's policies, we can't getthem changed by walking away from the Party.

"The Labour Party has done so much trade unions can be proud of since 1997.Our members know that Labour is the only party who can deliver policies forworking people.

"I hope all unions follow our lead and keep the link between unions and theLabour Party strong and healthy."
