The CII has appointed Ian Porteous as Head of Regional Business Development, South East Asia and Hong Kong, based in Singapore.
Ian Porteous will spearhead the CII's regional marketing, business development and operational management. In addition, he will be working closely with regulators and key financial institutes in the region to help in the drive to raise the levels of professionalism across the insurance and financial services sectors.
CII Group Marketing and Sales Director Lee Gladwell says, "Singapore is moving towards being the finance hub for the region. Over the next few months, the CII will be looking to enhance relationships with key organisations to ensure that the highest professional standards are maintained across the finance and insurance markets. The appointment of Ian Porteous is a demonstration of our commitment and we believe that his experience, expertise and in-depth knowledge of the regional and local business environment, is well placed to drive the CII's initiatives in the region."
Porteous brings with him over 25 years of international sales and marketing experience, 16 years of which were spent in the insurance and financial services sector. Prior to his current role with the CII, he was a Partner & Practice Manager with Professional Investment Advisory Services in Singapore. Past positions also include Senior Vice President at IPAC financial planning. Porteous has also worked extensively across South East Asia, East Europe and the Middle East.
