Massive Response for the World’s Largest Coffee Morning
An estimated 33 coffee mornings took place in Twickenham alone on Friday, ten more than last year, in support of Macmillians’ Cancer Relief.
Vincent Cable MP, who attended three of them, said that the ‘World’s Largest Coffee Morning’ is “a remarkable grassroots movement” to raise money for the charity which funds Macmillian nurses: “I had personal experience of the Macmillian nurses when my late wife, Olympia, was terminally ill. I can’t speak highly enough of the support they give. All cancer victims will be appreciative of the way this idea has caught on and is raising lots of money locally and nationally.”
