Sylvia Heal
Time to talk consultation
Sylvia Heal, MP for Halesowen and Rowley Regis has written to all local schools and youth groups to let them know about the Time to Talk consultation, which allows parents and pupils to share ideas about the Government’s national Children’s Plan.
Consultation events are currently being held across the country and so far there has been a really positive response with over 1,000 people feeding their views into the consultation and sharing their ideas about how we can all do more to improve the lives of children. The Children’s Plan will be published later this year, once the consultation is complete, setting out how the Government will work to deliver its objectives over the next few years.
There are four key areas for discussion in Time to talk, these are:
How to ensure children have a positive childhood.
What is the role of families in helping children to fulfil their potential and how can they be helped to do this?
What is the best way to personalise services to the needs of the individual child?
What can we do to prevent negative outcomes for children?
Sylvia Heal MP said “I would like to raise awareness of this Government consultation, so that as many people as possible from Halesowen and Rowley Regis can participate. I think it is a really good opportunity for staff, students, school governors and parents to put forward their ideas.”
The deadline is at the end of October and anyone who would like to contribute their ideas can do so online at www.dcsf.gov.uk/timetotalk
