Sylvia backs campaign to honour the brave
MP Sylvia Heal has given her backing to the Daily Mirror’s campaign to honour British service personnel killed or injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Honour the Brave campaign is calling for the creation of a medal – similar to the US Purple Heart – to be awarded to servicemen and women who have died or suffered injuries whilst on active service. Sylvia is backing the campaign along with a growing number of MPs that are calling upon the Government to create such a medal.
Sylvia Heal MP said: “I am urging the Government to create a special honour to recognise the brave work that our service personal carry out every day in Iraq and Afghanistan, I think it is important we recognise and reward their courageous work.”
