Sylvia Heal encourages constituents to recycle Christmas cards
Sylvia Heal MP is encouraging residents in Halesowen and Rowley Regis to recycle their Christmas Cards.
Mrs. Heal is supporting the Woodland Trust and Recycle Now in their third annual Christmas Card Recycling Scheme. The recycled paper goes to make good paper products and the money raised to support the Woodland Trust’s “Trees For All” campaign. The Collection last year saw 82 million Christmas cards recycled, the year the aim is to reach an ambitious 100,000 million.
Retailers that are taking part in the scheme include Tesco, WH Smith and TK Maxx stores who will have special collection boxes available until the end of January. Sylvia Heal will be recycling the hundreds of cards that she received at the new Tesco store in Cradley Heath.
Sylvia Heal MP said: “Recycling Christmas cards for the Woodland Trust is an easy way to start the year on a green note while helping a worthwhile cause. Recycling cards will help avoid waste, save trees from being cut down to make paper while contributing towards planting more trees across the UK”.
