Simon Burns MP expresses concern over Healthcare Commission’s report on local health services
Commenting Simon Burns MP said:
“I am greatly concerned at the level of service reflected in the branding for the mid-Essex PCT in quality of services and resources in the Healthcare Commissions annual health check report this week.
“The report has highlighted problems with the mid-Essex PCT and my concerns and worries are reflected in these results.
“Before the new mid-Essex PCT was created, there were huge problems with deficits from the existing PCTs and despite money from the Government, the money isn’t getting through to front line services.
“I hope that, following the merger of the three PCTs including the Chelmsford PCT into the mid-Essex PCT last year, that we will see the senior management of the PCT getting to grips with the problems so the next survey shows marked improvements.
“I am more reassumed by the results for the mid-Essex Hospital Trust, which includes Broomfield. Although marked weak for use of resources – which reflects the problems it has had through under funding, it is good news that its quality of services was marked as excellent.
“With regard to Broomfield Hospital I have always found it to be very good, one knows there are problems, but by and large I think the staff do a fantastic job in providing care for patients.”
