MPs in the Pink for breast cancer
Local MPs and Health Ministers Rt Hon Rosie Winterton and Caroline Flint MP were in the pink this week, in support of breast cancer awareness month.
Said Rosie Winterton: “By wearing something pink, we are playing a small part in raising awareness of a major issue. Breast cancer will affect one woman in nine during her lifetime. It’s as simple as that.”
Said Caroline Flint: “Last year, despite the best efforts of our NHS, 13,000 people in the UK will die from breast cancer, and some of those will be from Doncaster. That’s why we’re supporting the Breast Cancer Campaign ‘wear it pink’ day.”
The MPs hope that efforts across the country during October will raise funds for valuable breast cancer research.
