ROSIE SPEAKS WITH YEAR 6 STUDENTS ABOUT THE ROLE OF AN MP
Rosie Winterton, MP for Doncaster Central visited Town Field Primary School on Friday 14 July at the invitation of Year 6 students to talk about the G8 and her role as an MP.
Children from Town Field Primary School have taken an active part in the Global Campaign for ‘Education for All’. In 2005 young people from the school made ‘model ‘buddies’ representing the more than 100 million children around the world who miss out on schooling. This year the students wanted to talk to Rosie about the desperate shortage of teachers around the world.
Rosie says
“The students have a very real understanding about the needs of other children around the world. I am delighted that they invited me to talk with them about their concerns. Young people’s voices should be heard. Learning about how Government works will help them to get their message across and make a difference to the world they live in.”
