Community Groups Can Now Apply for Share of Criminals’ Cash
New scheme to support community groups
Rosie Winterton, MP for Doncaster Central, today welcomed the news that money seized from criminals is to be spent in local communities on tackling gun and knife crime, and urged community groups to apply for some of the money.
Please note that the closing date for bids is 16th September.
Rosie said:
"The Government's policy of seizing the assets of criminals is working - now some of this money can be used by local groups to tackle crime and help victims.
"Local community groups who work to reduce crime or offer support for victims can apply for some of this money..
“This is a real opportunity for local groups to get extra funding - if they feel they may be eligible they can contact me or log on to www.connected.gov.uk .
"We are serious about tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in Doncaster Central and I'm delighted that now we can use criminal assets to make our streets safer."
